Personal Financial Services Representative (PFR) | Gesa Credit Union

The Tone:
This is an entry-level position at Gesa Credit Union, located on-site at a branch. Gesa empowers communities by serving members with their financial needs. This role is crucial for establishing and nurturing member relationships, providing essential financial services, and ensuring the smooth operation of the branch.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $20.00-$29.86 hourly
• Team: Supports the branch team, including Member Service Associates and leadership.
• Mission: To assist members with establishing new financial relationships, managing accounts, and securing loans, while deepening their engagement with the credit union.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide exceptional member service, taking ownership of concerns, and resolving problems promptly or escalating as needed.
• Open new consumer deposit accounts and perform account maintenance, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately.
• Process consumer lending applications, review credit reports, obtain approvals, handle loan documentation, and close loans.
• Deepen member relationships by offering appropriate products and services, making outbound calls, and discussing IRAs and HSAs.
• Support branch operations by assisting new Member Service Associates, managing cash activities, maintaining ATMs, and acting as a Notary Public.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Degree (or equivalent) required, with a core understanding of financial literacy, products, and services.
• Experience: Sales/relationship building experience required; at least one year of customer service experience preferred; cash handling experience preferred.
• Skills: Professional written and verbal communication; ability to make sound decisions that minimize risk; adept at asking open-ended and clarifying questions to understand member needs; comprehensive knowledge of credit union offerings.
• Bonus: Existing Notary Public commission; willingness to attend and engage in community events on behalf of the credit union.
