Personal Banker Associate I – Louisville South | Fifth Third Bank

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Fifth Third Bank, located in Louisville, Kentucky. Fifth Third Bank connects individuals to opportunities by providing comprehensive banking services. This position is vital in building and deepening customer relationships, proactively meeting their financial needs, and ensuring every interaction delivers a positive experience while operating within the Bank’s risk appetite.

The TL;DR

• Team: Works as a member of the platform staff and collaborates with Business Partners.
• Mission: Proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects to acquire new households and deepen existing relationships.
• Tech Stack: CAMP, approved Marketing tools, Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Needs Identification: Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build thorough customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs.
• Relationship Development: Acquire new households and deepen existing customer relationships through activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, tele-consulting, cross-selling, and outside sales engagements.
• Financial Center Operations: Process teller transactions and actively contribute as a member of the platform staff, also participating in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart.
• Partner Collaboration: Establish close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to refer customers and provide timely, holistic financial solutions.
• Loan and Risk Management: Own sourced consumer loans from application through closing, adhere to established policies and procedures for all Retail products, and keep up to date on procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and risk.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A college degree or work experience providing transferrable skills, or a combination of education and experience, is required.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are stated as required; however, demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities aimed at acquiring new consumer households, small business customers, and cross-selling to established customers is essential.
• Skills: Demonstrated understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis; ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank through appearance and communication; ability to develop a working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures for sound decision-making. This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through NMLS.
• Bonus: Experience in the financial industry is preferred.
