People & Operations Intern | Simular

The Tone:

This position offers a unique opportunity to build the foundational operational systems and culture of the company, providing an inside view into how an AI startup truly runs, from its initial setup to its daily interactions.

• Mission: This person will help build Simular’s operational backbone, spanning hiring, operations, community engagement, and AI-driven process automation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Hiring & Talent: Support the comprehensive hiring pipeline by posting roles, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and following up with candidates, while also assisting with the onboarding process for new hires, including equipment, accounts, and first-week logistics.
• Events & Community: Organize and attend hackathons, tech meetups, and industry events, coordinate internal team gatherings and offsites, and represent Simular as a key face at external community and recruiting events.
• Operations & Compliance: Assist in finding and managing office spaces, support IT compliance with device management and security policies, coordinate with external vendors like insurance and IT providers, and ensure employment compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Process Automation: Identify and automate repetitive operational workflows using AI tools, no-code platforms, or scripts, building and maintaining internal systems such as onboarding checklists and candidate pipeline tracking.
• AI Literacy: Develop deep AI literacy through daily interaction with AI agents and LLMs within operational processes, and help the team stay at the forefront by testing new AI tools, sharing effective strategies, and documenting best practices.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Core domain knowledge in people operations, community building, and operational efficiency.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required.
• Skills: Strong organizational and detail-oriented abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently; Clear and professional communication skills; Proactive problem-solver comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out independently; Genuine curiosity about AI and eagerness to develop practical AI literacy for transforming workflows; Strong interpersonal skills, energized by events and face-to-face interactions, with a commitment to building a great workplace.
• Bonus: Prior internship experience in HR, people operations, or startup environments; Experience organizing events, clubs, or student organizations.
