Director, People Business Partner (Global Operations) | SoFi

This is a full-time role at SoFi, located in Jacksonville. In this environment, People Business Partners are essential as trusted advisors who enable employees and leaders to thrive. This specific role is pivotal; it involves leading and implementing the comprehensive people strategy for SoFi’s Global Operations team, working directly with the Head of Global Operations and their leadership. Furthermore, this Director will manage and mentor a team of People Business Partners, whose support extends to critical areas such as member service delivery, fraud prevention, and collections. The work directly impacts the business by empowering smart, data-driven decisions and fostering a deeply inclusive and equitable culture throughout the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guide Team Development: Manage and mentor a team of People Business Partners, fostering their continuous growth, professional development, and ensuring their overall success in delivering excellent results.
• Drive Strategic People Initiatives: Partner closely with Operations leaders to define, shape, and implement strategic people programs that directly align with overarching business goals, encompassing performance management, compensation, benefits, and comprehensive development programs.
• Implement Organizational Solutions: Identify the underlying root causes of complex organizational challenges, then develop creative and practical solutions, and oversee their effective implementation to drive positive change.
• Coach and Influence Leadership: Apply a deep understanding of the business and its talent landscape to effectively coach leaders across all levels, influencing strong decision-making that contributes to long-term organizational growth and resilience.
• Champion Culture and Inclusion: Actively champion SoFi’s core values and lead initiatives specifically designed to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the entire Operations team, fostering a supportive and equitable work environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level professional with demonstrated progressive HR experience gained in environments, capable of balancing strategic big-picture thinking with practical, hands-on execution. This includes an inherent commitment to fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented workplace.
• Experience: Proven track record of directly managing and developing high-performing People Business Partner teams, alongside extensive experience in supporting and coaching leaders at all levels, specifically including Vice President and above-level leaders, to drive accountability and alignment.
• Skills: Proficiency in using data analytics to uncover trends, inform strategic decisions, and implement impactful organizational changes. Possesses a strong understanding of key HR domains such as compensation, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and diversity and inclusion. Exhibits exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport, adapt to diverse audiences, and influence effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Bonus: Prior professional experience within a banking or technology company environment, complemented by practical experience utilizing Workday.
