Front Office Specialist PRN | Concentra

This role is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering administrative and front office support that ensures a welcoming and respectful experience for every patient.

• Mission: Ensures every patient is treated with quality clinical care and is provided a welcoming and respectful experience.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internal charge entry system, employer reporting tool, appropriate patient management system
What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Intake & Management: Greet and check in patients, communicate wait times, direct them accordingly, and explain required forms for proper completion.
• Communication & Scheduling: Answer incoming telephone lines, direct callers appropriately, and contact patients for appointment reminders, rescheduling, or cancellations.
• Records & Data Administration: Obtain authorization for services, process patient referrals, check out patients, distribute records, and enter applicable charges via internal systems.
• Operational Support: Assist center leadership with daily administrative functions, manage office supplies and printed forms, and help maintain the facility’s neat and orderly appearance.
• Clinical Assistance: Perform medical assistant duties such as breath alcohol tests, drug screens, and TB skin test reads, as assigned and approved by medical leadership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School Diploma or GED required, with general knowledge of patient registration, scheduling, and customer service procedures.
• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of job-related experience.
• Skills: Outstanding customer service, ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI), effective communication, and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry into various systems.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of state-specific occupational medicine requirements.
