Patient Dining Software Manager | Mayo Clinic
The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Mayo Clinic, requiring candidates to be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus. This position is enterprise in scope, supporting all hospitals within the Mayo Clinic system by managing the patient dining software. The role is critical for integrating patient dining services with medical records and other hospital systems, ensuring streamlined workflows and improved data accuracy across the organization. This work directly contributes to operational efficiency and the accurate delivery of therapeutic diets, textures, and allergy information for patient care.

• Mission: To manage the enterprise patient dining software to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and increase operational efficiency across all Mayo Clinic hospitals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Management: Oversee the system-wide project planning, design, build, implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of the enterprise patient dining software.
• System Integration: Manage the integration of the patient dining software with medical records and other hospital systems to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.
• Process Improvement & Development: Design and implement data gathering processes to drive data-driven process improvement endeavors, and support the development, coding, and maintenance of the software for therapeutic diets, textures, and allergies.
• Workflow Leadership & Training: Lead changes to food services and clinical practice workflows that impact the patient dining software, developing and maintaining training documents and best practices for end users to ensure adoption and maximize efficiency.
• Technical Support & Project Management: Provide technical support for troubleshooting, operate as a system SME during go-lives, ensure system functionality with minimal disruption even after hours, coordinate after-work hour problems, and manage projects by evaluating scopes, developing timelines, and tracking progress.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in foods, nutrition, food service management, or dietetics, plus successful completion of an AND-approved dietetic internship, an accredited coordinated undergraduate dietetics program, or a Master’s degree in nutrition. Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensed/Certified Dietitian in the state working is required.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of Food Service Operations and clinical experience is required, along with five years of experience working in healthcare foodservice informatics systems.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities; Smartsheet proficiency for project tracking, reporting, and collaboration; Project management; In-depth knowledge and experience working with medical record systems, specifically diet order entry as well as common diet ordering terminology and routine ordering practices; In-depth knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance standards for food services; Excellent communication, organizational, and human relation skills to facilitate effective collaboration and ensure clear communication across teams.
