What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Analyze existing plans, policies, procedures, and guidance to identify opportunities for organizational improvement and effectiveness.
• Develop: Contribute to the development and refinement of new plans, policies, procedures, and guidance aimed at enhancing the organization’s operations.
• Monitor: Monitor the implementation and impact of organizational plans, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Collect: Systematically gather and evaluate budget or accounting data to pinpoint areas requiring changes and propose improvements.
• Present: Formulate and clearly present data-driven recommendations to management through comprehensive written reports and engaging oral presentations.
• Learn: Actively engage in diverse tasks and assignments specifically designed to increase familiarity and practical experience within the Management and Program Analyst occupation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student in good standing, eligible for the Department of the Army Internship Program, pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate in an accredited high school, college, or other educational institution on at least a half-time basis. Applicants must have completed two full academic years of post-high school study or possess an Associate’s degree, with a major in accounting, business, administration, or business management. Foreign education must be evaluated and deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited program.
• Experience: No specific prior professional work experience is required for entry into this internship beyond the academic qualifications. However, successful completion of at least 640 hours of work experience through the Internship Program is mandatory for eligibility for conversion to a permanent or term position after graduation.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities for dissecting complex information and identifying trends; proven capability in data collection, organization, and evaluation; excellent written communication for crafting detailed reports; effective oral communication for presenting findings and recommendations; foundational understanding of management principles and program analysis for organizational improvement.
• Bonus: A strong commitment to improving the efficiency of the Federal government, upholding the rule of law, and the United States Constitution; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance; willingness to undertake occasional temporary duty travel (up to 10% of the time).
