Paralegal – Litigation | Lowe’s Companies, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Lowe’s Companies, Inc., located in Mooresville, NC. Lowe’s is a FORTUNE® 100 home improvement company employing approximately 300,000 associates across over 1,750 stores and various other facilities. This role is crucial for managing legal matters that directly impact Lowe’s diverse business units, by providing essential support to the Legal Department. You will contribute to ensuring the company’s compliance and operational integrity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage and coordinate fact-finding and discovery processes, including preparing legal hold requests and due diligence summary reports.
• Draft, review, and edit legal correspondence and documents, tailoring them for specific transactions and utilizing the matter management system.
• Perform specialized paralegal tasks such as claim review, intellectual property docket management, and compliance with consent decrees.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research, analyze applicability to assigned issues, and prepare detailed research memoranda for attorney review.
• Complete legal submissions to regulatory agencies, prepare compliance-related tasks, and communicate with federal, state, and local officials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced legal professional with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED; additional work experience may substitute for higher education degrees. Core domain knowledge in corporate legal operations or law firm environments.
• Experience: 8 years working in a corporate legal department or law firm, including 2 years managing large volumes of work and 3 years in broad research projects.
• Skills: Legal research and analysis, drafting and editing legal documents, fact investigation and due diligence, regulatory compliance and submissions, matter management system utilization.
• Bonus: Retail industry experience, State-designated paralegal certification.
