Paralegal – Employment Wage & Hour Class Action | Wilshire Law Firm

The Tone:
This is a Paralegal position at Wilshire Law Firm, located in Oakland, Downtown Los Angeles, or Irvine. • Pay: $35.00 – $57.70 hourly
• Team: Supports attorneys and partners within the Employment Wage & Hour Class Action department.
• Mission: Manages a high volume of cases, provides litigation support to attorneys, and ensures attention to detail in all legal processes.
• Tech Stack: Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, Litify, Microsoft 365 (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Correspondence, letters, pleadings, and all forms of discovery for legal cases.
• Proofread: Legal documents to ensure accuracy and clarity before submission.
• Conduct: Legal research and gather relevant information to support case development.
• Maintain: Case files diligently using the Firm’s document and case management system.
• Assist: Attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience specializing in Labor and Employment and Wage & Hour law.
• Experience: Well versed in e-filing in State and Federal courts, along with administrative agencies; experienced in propounding and responding to discovery, calendaring hearings and court deadlines, and assisting with mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, the capacity to provide leadership and guidance to legal support staff, strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading skills, and proficiency in legal research platforms such as Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw, as well as case/document management systems like Litify.
• Bonus: Spanish fluency, proficiency with Microsoft 365, a Bachelor’s degree, and experience with e-filing in Appellate courts are strongly preferred.
