Outdoor Adventure Customer Service Guide – On Call | Black Desert Resort

The Tone:
This is an on-call, variable schedule role at Black Desert Resort, located onsite in Southern Utah. The resort is an ultra-premium destination known for its stunning red rock landscapes and diverse outdoor recreation experiences, including biking, guided excursions, and wellness activities. This position is vital for supporting daily recreation operations by assisting guests with equipment, ensuring safety, and maintaining gear for an unparalleled outdoor adventure.

The TL;DR
• Role: Part Time
• Type: On Call / Variable Schedule
• Location: In-person, Ivins, UT
• Pay: $16–$18 hourly
• Mission: To support daily recreation operations by ensuring a friendly and safe environment for guests, assisting with equipment, and performing essential maintenance for enjoyable and secure outdoor experiences.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guest Relations: Warmly greet guests arriving for outdoor recreation activities and efficiently assist them with equipment return procedures after their experience.
• Equipment Education: Provide clear, concise, and safe instructions on how to operate resort bicycles and other outdoor equipment, including precise guest fitting for bicycles and secure helmet adjustments.
• Maintenance & Cleaning: Conduct preventative bike care, perform basic repairs like tightening components, and meticulously wash, clean, and sanitize bicycles, helmets, and accessories daily after each use.
• Operational Support: Assist with activity check-ins, monitor inventory of equipment, coordinate effectively with recreation leadership for equipment readiness, and promptly report any maintenance issues.
• Resort Standards: Maintain an organized and tidy equipment area and outdoor recreation environment at all times, upholding Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium hospitality standards in every interaction.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Core understanding of outdoor recreation principles and guest service excellence.
• Experience: Basic knowledge of bicycle maintenance and fundamental repair skills to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
• Skills: Strong communication and exceptional guest service skills, ability to clearly and patiently explain equipment use, meticulous attention to safety protocols and equipment condition, ability to work effectively outdoors in varying weather, and flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
• Bonus: Previous experience in outdoor recreation, bike rental operations, or a customer service role.
