Organisational Development Associate | Canonical

The Tone:
This is an early-career position at Canonical, available remotely across EMEA and the Americas. Canonical builds open-source software like Ubuntu, which powers global enterprise initiatives in cloud, AI, data science, and IoT. This role is crucial for the Talent Development team, directly contributing to defining and implementing excellent management standards across the company. It offers a fast path for driven individuals to take on real change, not a support or generalist HR function.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Observe: Embed within teams to understand daily operations and identify functional and dysfunctional elements.
• Diagnose: Run diagnostics on team health and management effectiveness using engagement surveys, 360 feedback, and direct input, then synthesize findings into clear reads.
• Implement: Own the end-to-end design, drive, and landing of concrete improvements to team operations, with senior guidance.
• Coach: Support managers in delivering effective 360 performance feedback and guide individuals in committing to actionable improvements.
• Develop: Help build the organizational development playbook, including standards, tools, and shared language for the entire function.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Exceptional academic track record from high school and university, with a grounding in organisational or industrial psychology, behavioural science, or a comparable field.
• Experience: Up to two years of experience since graduating, demonstrating early leadership, organizational initiative, and a track record of driving change.
• Skills: Business-level written and spoken English, strong organizational skills, accuracy, confidence, and a results-oriented approach.
• Bonus: Any exposure to people, organisational, coaching, or consulting work, a genuine interest in the craft of management, and comfort working with data.
