Supervisor, Operations | Fedex
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Fedex Supply Chain, operating within a warehouse environment. The company focuses on the safe and effective execution of daily operational plans and strategies within its supply chain network. This role is fundamental for leading operational teams, allocating resources efficiently, ensuring compliance with established processes, and driving overall performance against key metrics. Success in this position directly contributes to maintaining product safety, quality, and legality within the company’s operations.

• Team: Leads at least two full-time direct reports and supervises warehouse operations teams, reporting to an Operations Manager.
• Mission: Ensures the safe and effective execution of daily operational plans and strategies within warehouse operations, driving performance and compliance across key operational KPIs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Supervise at least two full-time direct reports, actively leading on the floor, providing coaching, skills development, recognition, and managing performance.
• Operational Oversight: Oversee and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production activities within warehouse operations, ensuring schedules are correctly implemented, jobs are assigned efficiently, and vacation/time-off scheduling minimizes disruption.
• Performance Management: Drive teammate excellence and operational success by conducting daily startup meetings to communicate instructions, providing consistent feedback, and supervising operations to meet prescribed objectives and KPIs.
• Safety & Quality Assurance: Promote a safe work environment through weekly meetings, training, JHA reviews, and facility walkthroughs, while maintaining 5S standards and ensuring product safety, quality, and legality.
• Communication & Reporting: Prepare and distribute operational reports to support daily activities, facilitate seamless handoffs, and communicate key information across teams and management, while also providing courteous customer service.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (no prior work experience needed with a degree); OR military rank of E-6, E-7, O-1, or O-2; OR demonstrated leadership skills within a warehouse or supply chain environment.
• Experience: Minimum of six months of experience gained in a warehouse or supply chain environment is required, particularly for candidates without a qualifying degree or military background.
• Skills: Possess excellent organizational, analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities; strong verbal and written communication skills; a proven ability to drive continuous improvement and manage change; and broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
• Bonus: Labor management experience and familiarity with quality management methodologies are preferred for this role.
