Operations Supervisor | Central Transport

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Central Transport, a leading Less-than-Truckload (LTL) carrier with over 200 locations across the country. The Operations Supervisor is key to developing our team and ensuring we uphold our commitment to excellence for our wide network of clientele.

• Pay: $65000–$80000 yearly
• Mission: This role ensures the efficient, safe, and compliant movement and processing of Less-than-Truckload (LTL) freight within a terminal, consistently meeting production schedules and Key Performance Indicator goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee: Supervise inbound operations for a designated section of the terminal dock, including unloading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking and sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage: Lead up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve designated production schedules and provide leadership and accountability to the team.
• Build: Utilize independent judgment to construct freight loads based on available labor and current freight levels.
• Monitor: Ensure proper loading of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers, while also monitoring dock production to ensure facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met or exceeded.
• Maintain: Uphold a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards, ensure company operational model compliance, and monitor hours and overtime for the team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager-level experience in managing a team, preferably within transportation operations, alongside a thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Experience: Prior management, dispatch, and dock experience is required, preferably within the LTL trucking industry, with a willingness to work an average of 50 hours per week.
• Skills: Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees, coupled with a high aptitude for technology and excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required for this position.
