Operations Intern – Summer 2027 | Avery Dennison

The Tone:
This is an Operations Summer Intern position at Avery Dennison, located in various facilities across North America. Avery Dennison is a global materials science and digital identification solutions company focused on creating products and solutions that advance industries, optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and connect brands with consumers. This role is crucial for cultivating future talent, providing hands-on manufacturing experience, and serving as a direct pipeline for the company’s Early Careers Program in Operations. Interns are expected to make a real impact by collaborating on strategic projects and process improvement initiatives.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, multiple states (CA, GA, IL, IN, OH, WI)
• Pay: $25.50–$29.00 hourly
• Mission: To identify and lead process improvement projects, support plant initiatives, and gain hands-on manufacturing experience within state-of-the-art facilities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Identify and support opportunities for process improvement within manufacturing operations.
• Develop project plans and actively lead or contribute to projects through to their completion.
• Assist the plant leadership team in the implementation of various plant-wide initiatives.
• Provide support to cross-functional teams by contributing to special projects as required.
• Collaborate directly with plant leadership within state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or another related field.
• Experience: Prior internship or co-op experience, or other relevant work experience. Active participation in student organizations such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, or Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, or similar volunteer activities.
• Skills: Demonstrated interest in process improvement, project planning, and collaboration with leadership teams. Must be interested in and able to relocate now and in the future, with reliable transportation to and from work.
