Operations & Programming Intern | MADE Hoops

The Tone:
This is an internship at MADE Hoops, located in Brooklyn, NY. MADE Hoops operates a high-performance basketball training facility, providing elite training environments for athletes. This role is crucial for supporting the daily operations of the facility, contributing to essential programming and scheduling efforts, and fostering strong community engagement. The intern will gain hands-on experience in sports facility management, youth programming, and client relations within a dedicated training setting.

• Mission: This person will support the daily operations of an elite basketball training facility, contributing to programming, scheduling, and community engagement efforts within a youth sports environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Community Outreach: Support community outreach initiatives to increase local engagement and program visibility.
• Client Relations: Build relationships with parents and athletes during drop-off and pick-up times, promoting upcoming programs to drive participation and retention.
• Facility Operations: Assist with the day-to-day operations of a 15,000-square-foot elite basketball facility.
• Platform Management: Utilize the Mindbody platform to manage camper check-ins, registrations, and real-time scheduling updates.
• Event Coordination: Coordinate transitions between summer camp sessions, private training sessions, and facility rentals, ensuring a professional and safe training environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate student seeking college credit or a recent college graduate. Foundational understanding of basketball training and youth sports culture.
• Experience: Entry-level experience comfortable learning and using software platforms like Mindbody and Google Workspace.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and customer service communication skills, technical aptitude for learning new software, and a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented work ethic.
• Bonus: Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings and weekends, demonstrates flexibility.
