This Operations Leadership Trainee position is meticulously structured to provide comprehensive time and guidance, allowing an individual to deeply learn the various operational aspects of a WebstaurantStore distribution center, from receiving to shipping, and thoroughly understand the expectations of our leadership team. The role is critical for cultivating future operational leaders who will ensure the continued efficiency and success of our distribution network by gaining hands-on experience and a holistic view of the facility’s operations, ultimately stepping into a permanent leadership position.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Leadership Support: Support the management of day-to-day decisions for the assigned department or shift regarding performance, process, and leadership.
• Operational Understanding: Learn and understand the process of each department and shift, making connections on how they interact, and identify areas for improvement.
• Principle Application: Actively engage in leadership discussions and demonstrate the ability to apply WebstaurantStore leadership principles to daily work.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for assigned departments, identify and resolve operating issues as needed, including supporting corrective actions and progressive discipline.
• Employee Engagement & Safety: Interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations and rules are consistently followed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. This role does not require a specific degree, as WebstaurantStore values relevant skills, practical experience, and alignment with its core values above all else. The trainee will be immersed in learning the diverse operational aspects of a distribution center, including its processes and leadership methodologies.
• Experience: While not required, candidates with 2 years of relevant experience in management are preferred. Experience working within a distribution environment is also preferred, providing a foundational understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines; Ability to quickly adapt and address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
• Bonus: Experience working in a distribution environment; A service leadership approach with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations; Ability to work off-shift as required to respond to urgent needs.
