Operations Intern | Event Strategies, Inc.
The Tone:
This is an internship at Event Strategies, Inc. (ESI), located in Alexandria, VA. ESI is a full-service event production company that plans and executes high-profile live events, conferences, tours, and special projects nationwide. This role is crucial for supporting the day-to-day operations of the company, assisting various departments, and contributing directly to the efficient planning and execution of diverse events. Interns will gain practical experience in business operations and event logistics while learning how a national event production company operates behind the scenes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Support: Assist the Chief of Operations, Project Managers, and Operations Managers with daily company activities and event execution by creating production schedules, tracking expenses, and sourcing vendors.
• Logistics Coordination: Manage transportation and accommodation details for equipment and personnel, which includes sourcing hotel room blocks, tracking flights, and coordinating rental cars.
• Project Administration: Maintain collaborative documents and administrative materials for all ESI projects, prepare meeting agendas, take notes, and track action items and deliverables.
• Research & Sourcing: Conduct thorough venue research, vendor sourcing, and other research projects to support event planning and company operations.
• Office & Event Assistance: Support the Office Manager with headquarters upkeep, including organizing storage areas, managing office supplies, and assisting with shipping and receiving, alongside providing occasional on-site event and post-event wrap-up support.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business, Operations Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: No specific years required.
• Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, ability to prioritize multiple assignments with strong attention to detail, and a professional demeanor for client and team interactions.
• Bonus: Previous office, customer service, logistics, warehouse, or event experience, or an interest in business operations, project management, logistics, government events, or live event production.
