Operations Intern | Ikigai Cases

The Tone:
This is an in-person Operations Internship at Ikigai Cases, with work primarily conducted at their warehouse in Alexandria, VA. Ikigai Cases is a rapidly growing, family-owned e-commerce business, founded in December 2021 by two brothers in Washington, DC. The company sells premium metal pill cases and has achieved multi-seven figure annual sales, fulfilling over 40,000 orders and shipping thousands of units monthly. Committed to its mission of creating exceptional products and delivering outstanding customer service, Ikigai Cases maintains in-house fulfillment to ensure a white-glove service for every customer. This critical role directly supports in-house operations during the spring season, ensuring customers receive their orders quickly and with the highest level of care, and offers a unique opportunity for hands-on, real-world experience in e-commerce operations within a fast-growing startup.

The TL;DR
• Role: Operations Internship
• Type: Seasonal, Part-time. Requires a commitment of at least 10 hours per week when available, and a total of at least 50 hours between January 1, 2026, and May 31, 2026.
• Location: In-person, Alexandria, VA.
• Pay: $20 hourly.
• Team: Working directly alongside the company’s founders.
• Mission: This role supports core in-house operations by ensuring efficient order fulfillment and effective inventory management, directly contributing to outstanding customer service in a rapidly growing e-commerce environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Order Fulfillment: Pack and meticulously prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring they meet Ikigai Cases’ standards for quality and speed.
• Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory and supply levels to maintain optimal stock and prevent disruptions in fulfillment.
• Founder Support: Provide direct operational assistance to the company founders across various business needs.
• Operational Readiness: Step in proactively to address any ad-hoc requirements necessary to keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Business Contribution: Actively contribute to the core processes that sustain the business and deliver a high level of customer care.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College student or recent graduate encouraged to apply, seeking practical, hands-on experience in an e-commerce environment.
• Availability & Location: Able to commit to at least 10 hours per week when available (minimum 50 total hours) between January 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026, and currently located in Washington, DC or the surrounding DMV area, capable of reliably commuting to the warehouse in Alexandria, VA for in-person work.
• Core Attributes: A high-energy individual with a strong work ethic, able to learn quickly, and possessing a low-ego approach with a willingness to undertake any necessary task to get the job done.
