Operations Finance Intern | Vibrant Ingredients

The Tone:
This is an internship at Vibrant Ingredients, located in Indianapolis, IN. Vibrant Ingredients is a leading provider of natural, clean label ingredients and systems that power extraordinary food and beverage experiences, operating four state-of-the-art facilities across the United States. This role is crucial for supporting the Site Finance & Accounting teams by auditing financial records, developing customer margin reports, and creating new relationship costing models, providing significant exposure to the operations and finance side of food and beverage manufacturing.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Indianapolis, IN

• Team: Operations Finance Intern within the Beverage & Flavors Business, supporting the Site Finance & Accounting teams.
• Mission: To support financial record accuracy, customer margin reporting, and new relationship costing models for the Beverage & Flavors Business.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft 365, Windows OS, Excel, Powerpoint, ERP systems.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support fixed asset management by assisting the Site Controller in the development and execution of a Fixed Asset Tagging & Master Asset Listing Update.
• Generate reports pertaining to customer billing, costs, and margins with varied degrees of complexity.
• Contribute to Monthly Report Consolidation and Reviews with Leadership.
• Collaborate effectively with Operations teams at multiple locations and attend daily operations meetings.
• Assist the Site Controller & Finance Director with Ad Hoc projects, reporting, and analysis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, having completed multiple finance and accounting courses. This role is suitable for a student seeking an internship.
• Experience: Candidates must possess a basic understanding of finance concepts. No specific years of experience are mentioned, but completion of relevant coursework is required.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, basic Excel & Powerpoint functionality, and the ability to navigate various ERP systems and software are preferred. An interest in Manufacturing, Cost Accounting, and/or Operations Finance, strong communication skills, punctuality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are also a plus.
