Operations Center Operator | Focus People

The Tone:
This is an onsite, full-time role at one of Focus People’s client’s critical operations centers, located in East Atlanta – Decatur. Focus People connects skilled individuals with clients needing specialized operational support for vital functions. This role is crucial for ensuring the continuous and optimal performance of complex systems, responding to incidents, and maintaining seamless operational flow within the client’s operations, with a scheduled start date in July 2026. The selected candidate will be central to maintaining operational integrity and responding to critical events.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Oversight: Oversee daily operations of a critical control center, monitoring various systems to ensure optimal performance, identifying incidents, system anomalies, and planned events promptly.
• Incident Response: Activate established protocols for incidents, coordinate with internal teams and external agencies as needed, and maintain clear, concise documentation of all events.
• Data Analysis: Monitor real-time data feeds, make adjustments based on established guidelines, and identify trends or issues for further investigation.
• Issue Resolution: Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and address system problems, escalating complex issues, and suggesting potential solutions.
• Operational Adherence: Adhere to strict operational procedures, maintain an organized workspace, contribute to a high-performance team, and fulfill on-call duties when required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should possess core domain knowledge in real-time system monitoring within an operations or control center environment. A relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Experience: One year of experience in a control room, operations center, or a similar role focused on real-time system monitoring.
• Skills: Basic proficiency with computer operating systems, internet navigation, and standard office software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure. A commitment to reliability, attention to detail, and a professional work ethic. Ability to maintain focus while monitoring multiple screens and data sources.
• Bonus: Experience with specialized monitoring or control software in a high-volume operational environment. Familiarity with incident management protocols or emergency response procedures. Understanding of IT networking or data management basics.
