The Tone:
This is a full-time, early-career rotational role at The Voleon Group, located in Berkeley, CA or New York, NY. Voleon is a technology company that applies state-of-the-art AI and machine learning techniques to real-world problems in finance, leading its industry for nearly two decades as a multibillion-dollar asset manager. This Operations Associate Program is designed to develop the firm’s next generation of leaders, investing heavily in their development through substantive rotations and direct exposure to senior leadership. Associates will build a strong understanding of how the firm operates from day one and contribute to Voleon’s ambitious future goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Complete: Complete three six-month rotations across diverse business functions such as Client Service, HR, Fund Finance, Business Strategy, Legal, Compliance, and R&D teams.
• Execute: Take on high-impact project work within each rotation, contributing directly to key firm initiatives and priorities.
• Collaborate: Work directly with senior stakeholders, including regular exposure to the executive team, to address firm-wide priorities.
• Progress: Take on responsibilities that grow with demonstrated ability and contribution rather than strictly by tenure within the program.
• Contribute: Contribute to the Operations Associate Program itself through leadership opportunities, recruiting efforts, and learning and development programming.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Outstanding academic record from a rigorous undergraduate or master’s program. Candidates from any major or academic focus are accepted, with no prior finance experience required, focusing instead on a genuine curiosity about how a quantitative investment firm operates.
• Experience: Early-career candidates, including current Bachelor’s and Master’s students and recent graduates. Requires demonstrated ambition and ownership, evidenced by building, leading, or fixing something that can be clearly articulated. Authorization to work in the United States is required, with availability to begin the role in Summer 2027.
• Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, including the comfort to turn ambiguity into structure. Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential. Capable of managing multiple work streams with high attention to detail, while also being a team player drawn toward a collaborative environment.
