General Information

This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.

Department, Hours, and Location

  • Department: Public Transportation
  • Hours of Work: Monday through Friday; 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Location: 3600 Dr. MLK Jr. Ave.

Compensation and Advancement

Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Work Arrangement

Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per PandP 40-40.

Eligibility and Authorization to Work

To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following combinations of education and experience:

  • Option 1:

    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
    • AND four (4) years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • OR Option 2:

    • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline
    • AND two (2) years of experience in the field related to the position.
  • OR Option 3:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline
    • AND experience in the field related to the position.

Additional Requirements for All Applicants

  • Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
