Full-time 1st shift – Non-Certified Pharmacy Technician, Central Fill, Health And Wellness Central Operations – Health And Wellness | Walmart
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Walmart, located in Litchfield Park, AZ. Walmart operates Central Fill Pharmacies, which are specialized facilities focused on processing and dispensing prescriptions for multiple retail locations within a region. This role is crucial for leveraging automation to fill prescriptions quickly and accurately, ultimately enabling retail pharmacies to dedicate more time to providing clinical services and education to the communities they serve. While not patient-facing, this position directly contributes to patient care by ensuring efficient and precise prescription fulfillment.

• Mission: Ensure the accurate and efficient fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill environment to support retail pharmacies and patient care.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Management: Maintain and track medication inventory, including sorting, storing, restocking, rotating stock on a first-in-first-out basis, reporting low levels, and assisting with physical counts and cycle counts.
• Automated Prescription Processing: Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions by using scanners, entering expiration dates and lot numbers, labeling, weighing, counting medication, and preparing packages in a production environment.
• System Operation and Maintenance: Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy systems and technology, such as automated inventory control scanners and medication counting machines, by inputting data, calibrating, and applying settings to ensure continuous workflow.
• Quality Control and Integrity: Maintain the quality, accuracy, and integrity of pharmaceutical inventory by auditing pill cell performance, identifying and properly discarding hazardous waste, and processing recalled or expired products.
• Documentation and Compliance: Support facility operations by entering and modifying pharmaceutical data, processing and submitting paperwork, creating reports, and ensuring adherence to local, state, federal laws, and corporate policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary; this role offers an opportunity to join a Pharmacy Technician Trainee program.
• Skills: Ability to manage and track medication inventory, operate automated systems and scanners, perform data entry, identify and resolve record discrepancies, and move, lift, or carry merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
