Night Auditor | Highgate

The Tone:
This is an hourly, early career role at Highgate, located in Exton, PA at the Residence Inn Exton. The Night Auditor is pivotal to the hotel’s financial integrity and operational flow, responsible for ensuring accurate transaction reconciliation, precise guest billing, and the timely compilation of critical management reports during the overnight shift. This role supports effective decision-making by management and maintains high standards of guest satisfaction while operating on a late/overnight schedule.

• Mission: Reconcile all hotel cashier transactions, ensure the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions, and compile timely management reports to support hotel operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile all hotel cashier transactions, including those from the Front Desk and Food & Beverage, to ensure complete and accurate financial records.
• Reporting & Data Management: Prepare, organize, and distribute necessary daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial and statistical reports, such as the Daily Operating Report and Tax Reports, and input financial information into the corporate network.
• Billing & Payment Processing: Ensure the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions; audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit all credit card payments promptly.
• Guest Services: Perform guest service agent duties, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, reservations, wake-up calls, and handling guest requests, while ensuring overall guest satisfaction.
• Operational Communication: Effectively communicate unusual operational or financial events, policy deviations, and other related issues to all levels of management, and respond to governmental inquiries as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School diploma or equivalent, coupled with a fundamental understanding of financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions.
• Experience: One year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is required.
• Skills: Proficiency in computer operation; strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner; ability to multitask, prioritize job functions to meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Bonus: Prior Guest Service Experience is preferred.
