Job Description: New York Life Investments Summer Internship Program
This is a dynamic and challenging 10-week paid internship experience designed for rising juniors and seniors, offering valuable skills and insights to shape their career paths within the financial services industry.
Program Overview:
• Program Title: New York Life Investments Summer Internship Program.
• Duration: 10 weeks, paid.
• Start Date: June 2026.
• Target Audience: Rising juniors and seniors currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited 4-year university or college, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Locations: Positions are available at New York Life Investments Management and its boutique firms, Apogem Capital, and MacKay Shields (with Apogem having offices in New York, Chicago, and Richmond).
• Opportunity Focus: The internship begins to develop a foundation in areas such as credit underwriting, financial analysis, and portfolio management through on-the-job training and specialized projects. Specific positions within Apogem Capital are available in Finance & Accounting, Tax, and Business Intelligence. The broader internship could lead to a full-time rotational analyst role in areas like Sales, Marketing, and Product.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Experiences (Depending on Placement):
• Presentations: Creating and participating in individual and/or group presentations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partnering with key internal stakeholders across marketing, sales, business intelligence, compliance, finance, legal, etc., to drive efforts.
• Marketing Material Development: Collaborating with investment partners on creating new product marketing materials in various formats (social media posts, webcasts, videos, brochures, presentations, flyers, and digital representations).
• Research & Analysis: Synthesizing research and analyses to develop concise and effective presentations (PowerPoint or Word) to inform new product recommendations.
• Project Management: Assisting with prioritizing, driving execution, and project managing new product launches or modifications.
• Event Coordination: Helping with the planning and overall coordination of conferences, seminars, and meetings.
• Operational Support: Participating in operational work such as updating and maintaining databases, managing daily queues, and inputting client requests.
• Financial Research: Conducting credit research, security analysis, and industry/market research.
• Professional Development: Attending training and development seminars.
• Networking & Exposure: Gaining exposure to senior leadership, subject matter experts, and participating in networking opportunities and social events.
What You’ll Bring (Required Skills & Qualifications):
• A strong desire to learn more about New York Life Investments and the financial services industry.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Technical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Prior internship experience or significant contributions to campus or community extracurricular activities.
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited 4-year university or college with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Business, Finance, or related major preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving skills.

• The program includes training and development seminars, networking opportunities, and a collaborative summer internship project.
• Full-Time Consideration: By the end of the internship, participants will be considered for an offer to join the full-time New York Life Investments Analyst Program upon graduation. This is a 2-year rotational program between various business areas such as Sales, Marketing, and Product. In 2025, three rotational analyst roles were offered to NYLI summer interns.
Application Process:
• Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
• Interviews are scheduled to begin in mid-September.
Compensation:
• Salary Range: $26 – $31 per hour.
• Overtime Eligible: Nonexempt.
• Discretionary Bonus Eligible: No (for the internship itself).
• Sales Bonus Eligible: No.
• Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to an individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location.
