New Graduate Nurse December Graduates Residency | Lee’s Summit Medical Center

The Tone:
This is a full-time residency role for New Graduate Nurses at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, located in Lee’s Summit, MO. Lee’s Summit Medical Center is an 80+ bed full-service hospital, a key part of HCA Healthcare Midwest Health, serving its community with over 300 physicians and 500 colleagues across more than 40 specialties. This role is crucial as it invests in the future of nursing by providing a structured, year-long residency program designed to foster the growth and development of new nurses through hands-on experience, clinical skill-building, and critical thinking development within a supportive educational environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Assessment: You will assess patient condition upon admission and during each shift, vigilantly identifying and promptly reporting any changes in their status to ensure continuous high-quality care.
• Procedure Execution: You will accurately perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as directed by medical providers, thoroughly documenting the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
• Medication Management: You will administer prescribed medications, closely monitor patients for therapeutic responses, and notify providers while intervening appropriately in the event of an unintended response.
• Direct Patient Care: You will deliver exceptional patient care by responding promptly to patient requests, striving proactively to anticipate and resolve patient needs to enhance their overall experience.
• Patient Education: You will educate patients, their families, and caregivers on medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and necessary follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Entry-Level.
• Experience: No previous experience needed.
• Skills: Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Bonus: Some travel may be needed for training.
