New Business Development Manager | 3M

• Mission: To accelerate growth for 3M in the UK and Ireland by identifying, prioritizing, and acquiring new accounts and market opportunities within the primarily Retail and Home Improvement channels.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Identification: Identify new account and/or market opportunities, unmet customer needs, and emerging trends within the consumer sector and channels to drive growth.
• Strategy Development: Develop business cases, financial models, and commercialization strategies for new growth initiatives, leveraging category management processes.
• Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams across marketing, supply chain, and sales to advance new business opportunities.
• Partnership Evaluation: Evaluate potential partnerships, alliances, and licensing opportunities to support growth and conduct competitive analysis and market assessments.
• Stakeholder Communication: Present recommendations, progress updates, and business plans to Consumer Business Group (CBG) leadership, ensuring alignment with 3M’s principles and compliance standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start), preferably in Business Management fields, with experience in business development, product commercialization, strategic marketing, or similar roles.
• Experience: Sales management and/or work experience in the Retail/FMCG market.
• Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and project leadership skills.
• Bonus: Experience in consumer products or related industries, a background in innovation management, market development, or strategic partnerships, ability to work effectively with cross-functional global teams, Category Development Management knowledge and application examples, or Negotiations Skills Certification (e.g. GAP).
