Network Support Engineer Internship

This internship opportunity at Cisco Meraki’s Sydney, AUS office is a full-time role (40 hours/week) from October 28th, 2024 to June 27th, 2025. The role is designed for recent graduates or students nearing graduation, excluding those enrolled in Master’s programs.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot network-related issues reported by Cisco Meraki customers and partners, including wireless, security, switching, phone, and other various network issues.
• Take ownership of each networking issue, from initial creation to resolution.
• Collaborate with other Support team members to resolve network outages, misconfigurations, and complex networking issues for customers’ devices.
• Analyze packet capture using Wireshark.
• Work with Engineering and Management teams to diagnose and resolve critical escalated issues.
• Leverage knowledge to suggest, edit, and write detailed Knowledge Base articles.
• Stay current on Meraki features and technology through lunch and learns, participation in Engineering and Product team communication, and keeping up with enterprise and cloud networking trends.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of fundamental networking protocols, including TCP, STP, ARP, Ethernet, OSPF, etc.
• Fundamental understanding and hands-on experience with network technologies including firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, VLANs, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless networks.
• Prior experience in a network lab environment through internships, work experience, or volunteer work is beneficial.
• Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills and comprehension.
• A collaborative team player with a strong desire to learn from others.
• Passionate about networking, IT, and helping others.
• Pursuing or hold a B.S. in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
