The Tone:
This is an internship at Tesla, located in Palo Alto, CA. Tesla builds innovative products across solar, Powerwall, and Vehicle ecosystems, driven by a mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. This role matters deeply as you will contribute to building user experiences for these critical products, directly impacting millions of Tesla customers and the company’s core mission. • Team: Energy Mobile App team builds the core app experience for Solar, Powerwall, and Charging, working embedded within Energy Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Mission: Accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy by building friendly, understandable, and powerful user interfaces that anybody can understand and use.
• Tech Stack: TypeScript, React Native, Go

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build: Construct new functionality in the Tesla App using TypeScript and React Native on the front end and Go on the back end.
• Craft: Work embedded within the Energy Product, Design, and Engineering teams while crafting new features.
• Develop: Develop user experiences that power the ecosystem of Tesla Solar, Powerwall, and Vehicle products.
• Impact: Work on real features that ship to millions of Tesla customers, directly impacting Tesla’s mission of sustainable energy.
• Collaborate: Learn from cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a similar degree program with an emphasis in Mobile App development, or a related field.
• Experience: Fluency in a mobile app or reactive web framework.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills, an ability to learn quickly, and high standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Bonus: Preference for React Native and TypeScript; a passion for Tesla’s mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
