Mission Operations Specialist (Program) | Saronic Technologies
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Saronic Technologies. This role is crucial for coordinating and delivering the Mission Operations team’s work quality, output, basic budgeting, and overall adherence to deadlines, ensuring successful project and program objectives are met to achieve organizational goals. You will contribute effectively as both an individual contributor and as a vital part of your team, consistently meeting deadlines and achieving desired outcomes.

• Mission: Coordinate and deliver work quality, output, basic budgeting, progress, and overall adherence to deadlines for the Mission Operations team, ensuring successful project and program objectives are met.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project & Program Leadership: Drive one or more projects or product-supporting programs, such as ongoing R&D for Corsair, toward defined goals, while ensuring basic budgeting, progress tracking, and adherence to deadlines.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including DoD customers, facilitating clear communication, managing expectations, and ensuring mission or program requirements are effectively met.
• ASV Operations & Monitoring: Operate Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) during missions, monitoring vessel performance, sensor data, and mission progress in real time, actively troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining situational awareness to adjust mission parameters as needed.
• Data Analysis & Feedback: Collect, analyze, and interpret data acquired during ASV missions to derive actionable insights, generate comprehensive reports with key findings, and provide feedback to engineering and development teams for continuous improvement.
• Team & Mission Support: Foster a collaborative team environment, provide guidance and technical support to team members, conduct training for DoD personnel on ASV operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety protocols.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrated success in project coordination and leadership in a current role, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve desired outcomes; a Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, maritime studies, or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Requires up to 80% travel and the ability to certify as “fit for work” by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water, lift up to 75 lbs., and spend extended time periods on the water in marine environments.
• Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously; excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders; demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach; strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire; proficiency in mission planning software, GIS tools, and maritime navigation systems.
• Bonus: Experience in maritime operations, particularly with autonomous or unmanned systems; prior SOF experience working with the DoD or other government agencies.
