Micro-Intern | KeyBank

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at KeyBank, located on-site in Brooklyn, Ohio. KeyBank’s Micro-Internship Program provides high school students with an immersive summer experience to learn, explore, and develop essential professional skills within a corporate office environment. This role is designed to offer real-life experience, encouraging interns to demonstrate their capabilities, explore potential career paths in banking, and build valuable professional networks as they prepare for their collegiate journey. Interns are expected to bring a strong work ethic and apply their academic background to contribute meaningfully to their assigned department.

• Mission: Enable efficient departmental operations by performing administrative and support tasks while gaining professional experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform administrative support: Execute essential office and administrative tasks including filing, scanning, printing, and updating policies and procedures within an assigned department.
• Assist departmental operations: Actively support KeyBank teams in various departmental aspects, contributing to daily functions.
• Build professional connections: Network with Key employees, including accomplished professionals, subject matter experts, management teams, and executive leadership, to foster career-building relationships.
• Develop core professional skills: Enhance communication, interpersonal, and time management abilities through hands-on work in a professional environment.
• Explore career and industry insights: Become familiar with the banking industry and KeyBank specifically, while learning about a respective line of business and potential career paths.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current high school student, 16 years of age or older, actively seeking to gain professional experience and explore career paths within a corporate financial setting during the summer program.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to effectively use a computer for various office and administrative tasks.
• Skills: Possession of a strong work ethic; a proactive approach to learning; and a valid driver’s license or State ID, or the ability to attain one (with potential assistance from KeyBank).
