Merchandising and Operations Associate | Sam’s Club

What You’ll Actually Do
• Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain forklifts and pallet jacks following Company standards and guidelines, picking up, moving, placing, and positioning merchandise pallets, and reporting any poor or unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to management.
• Inventory & Merchandising: Receive, stock, and organize merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers throughout the facility. This involves managing inventory flow, correcting shelf capacities, completing required paperwork, zoning areas, stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged goods, setting up product displays, and ensuring prominent display of promotional and seasonal items.
• Member Engagement & Technology Support: Provide proactive and excellent member service by acknowledging needs, identifying solutions, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues and concerns, and guiding members with self-service technology. This also includes promoting the company’s products and services and actively engaging members with technology services and items.
• Facility Safety & Compliance: Maintain facility safety according to company policies and procedures by conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, adhering to hazardous material handling and disposal guidelines, following company steel standard guidelines, and correcting and reporting unsafe situations to management to ensure compliance and ethics.
• Operational Support & Shrink Control: Complete work assignments and priorities using available resources, collaborating with business partners, and adapting to feedback. Ensure club pick-up orders are filled accurately and staged properly, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, control shrinkage, identify shrink opportunities, and report poor inventory practices or low in-stock levels in assigned areas.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a minimum of 90 days of prior experience operating a forklift and possessing active certification.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to safely utilize pallet jacks for moving goods within a retail warehouse environment.
• Skills: Forklift operation and maintenance, inventory management and tracking, member service and issue resolution, retail merchandising and display, facility safety and compliance.
• Bonus: Experience in customer service roles, retail environments, or supervising a team.
