Mechanical Maintenance Interns (2 Positions)

Central San is seeking two highly motivated Mechanical Maintenance Interns to join its Operations Department within the Plant Maintenance Division.

Position Details:

• Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (40 hours per week)
• Schedule: Monday through Friday
• Commitment: Six-month duration, commencing in June/July
• Location: Central San Wastewater Utility

Eligibility Requirements:

This internship is open to students and recent graduates who meet one of the following criteria:

• Students with junior or senior academic standing.
• Graduate students.
• Students who have graduated within the past 12 months.
• Students currently enrolled in vocational school programs (e.g., Instrument Tech, Machinist, Mechanical Tech), without specific junior or senior standing requirements.

About the Role and Learning Opportunity:

These positions offer a unique opportunity for students to bridge their academic knowledge with practical, hands-on experience in a critical wastewater utility setting. Interns will gain invaluable insight into the operational aspects of mechanical maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Interns will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Executing mechanical maintenance activities on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
• Assisting with corrective maintenance to address identified issues.
• Contributing to preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Supporting predictive maintenance initiatives aimed at anticipating and mitigating potential failures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with educational background and/or practical experience in the following fields are strongly preferred:

• Welding
• Industrial Maintenance
• Machine Technology
• Process Technology
• Similar technical disciplines relevant to mechanical operations and maintenance.
