Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Intern
Location: On-site
Schedule: Part-time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Travel: Occasional job site visits
About The Role:
Are you eager to launch your engineering career with practical, hands-on experience in the mechanical industry? Join our vibrant team as a Mechanical Engineer Intern. In this role, you will work closely with project managers and collaborate across various departments, gaining invaluable real-world exposure to building engineering systems, construction project management, and the crucial financial and communication aspects that drive successful projects.
This internship is specifically designed to immerse you in the complete lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from initial design through to execution. You will be empowered to contribute meaningfully to day-to-day operations and solve genuine engineering challenges.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform comprehensive heat loss/gain load calculations and accurately interpret the results.
- Select and schedule appropriate HVAC equipment for various project requirements.
- Size and layout hydronic piping and HVAC ductwork systems efficiently.
- Collaborate actively with the estimating team on bid opportunities to ensure competitive proposals.
- Assist project managers with critical tasks such as vendor solicitations, equipment submittals, and essential site visits.
- Engage directly with field personnel to gain a deep understanding of installation processes and challenges.
- Work collaboratively with the team to identify and solve complex engineering challenges.
- Present findings, analyses, and solutions clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Research, compile, and meticulously analyze complex data to form sound, actionable conclusions.
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in engineering, design, project management, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of fundamental principles in heat transfer, thermal envelopes, airflow, and water flow calculations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for team collaboration and client interaction.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual with a proactive approach.
- Possesses a strong problem-solving mindset with the proven ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative.
- A dedicated team player who learns quickly and effectively applies new knowledge and skills.
- Capable of efficiently managing multiple priorities and thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
