Category Manager Intern | TikTok

The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is a leading global short-form mobile video platform, committed to inspiring creativity and bringing joy to its users. This role is crucial for scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon within TikTok Shop US, helping to pioneer content and creator commerce and make TikTok the leading commerce channel for merchants, creators, and affiliates. The team is entrepreneurial and passionate about shaping the future of shopping through an innovative, secure, and intuitive e-commerce ecosystem.

• Mission: To acquire and incubate merchants, support category growth, and solve key business challenges within the TikTok Shop US e-commerce ecosystem.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Merchant Acquisition: Acquire and incubate merchants to support overall category growth within TikTok Shop.
• Strategic Development: Discover and implement innovative collaborative models that align with merchant development plans, investing platform resources effectively.
• Business Problem Solving: Solve key challenges in business growth through strong collaboration with various cross-functional teams.
• Client Consultation: Employ a consultative approach, offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to all clients.
• Product Updates: Update clients on TikTok Shop product developments and new promotional opportunities to foster engagement and growth.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an MBA Degree, demonstrating a foundation in business acumen.
• Experience: Ability to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026. Prior internship or full-time experience in an e-commerce marketplace business or retail category management is a plus.
• Skills: Structured thinking, strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and proficient cross-team collaboration abilities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with the TikTok content ecosystem, shoppable content, and brand-creator partnerships.
