Job Description: Materials Research & Development Internship
This is a full-time summer internship (May-August) within Brady Corporation’s Materials Research & Development Department. The intern will work alongside experienced scientists and engineers on new product development and operational projects.
Responsibilities:
• Lab-scale development and testing: Creating and testing prototype material designs to meet specified performance requirements.
• Statistical analysis and testing: Conducting statistical studies, developing and writing test procedures, improving existing test methods, and authoring test reports.
• Data analysis and reporting: Collecting test data, utilizing Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or JMP for data analysis and charting, and contributing to problem-solving and product/process improvement projects.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Material Science.
• At least sophomore status by May 2024.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Hands-on testing and data gathering experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for data recording, analysis, and reporting.
• High school level algebra and chemistry knowledge.
• Ability to use a scientific calculator and spreadsheets.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to team objectives.
