Material Management Analyst Intern (Odessa, TX)

Job Summary:

The Material Management Analyst Intern serves in a key role, providing expertise in a broad range of responsibilities related to the management of equipment, materials, and supplies inventories, as well as issues and receipts. This position is responsible for developing and administering Supply Chain-based training curriculum, and providing technical support and oversight of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Service warehousing locations. The intern will assure that materials management and inventory SOX controls are in place, compliant, and followed, including oversight of the Annual Inactive, Excess, and Obsolete program.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Process Ownership & System Management:
    • Serve as the process owner for T&D system warehousing technical applications.
    • Provide oversight of Maximo inventory system health, including training curriculum and help-desk support.
    • Identify and implement operational, tactical, and strategic plans for supply chain technology tools.
  • Inventory Monitoring & Optimization:
    • Develop and maintain a process for monitoring system T&D inventory levels and make necessary adjustments to meet inventory value objectives.
    • Establish and maintain inventory Reorder Point (ROP) and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) targets for each storeroom based on activity.
    • Develop and publish inventory reports to support service center requirements.
  • Compliance & Control:
    • Manage Maximo access control, including an annual review of user access.
    • Manage and monitor SOX controls for system storeroom inventories and provide management reports of compliance.
    • Recommend and implement corrective measures as necessary to assure compliance.
  • Training & Support:
    • Provide training and technical support to system T&D storeroom employees.
  • Material Data Management:
    • Establish, revise, and cancel Maximo Item Master attributes.
    • Maintain knowledge of various materials, manufacturers, product descriptions, and applications.
  • Strategic Planning & Analysis:
    • Maintain knowledge of Oncor Program, Maintenance, and Construction activity in support of T&D operations.
    • Participate in planning, forecasting, and analysis of Supply Chain material requirements.
    • Participate in the development of long-range strategies.
    • Develop and coordinate short-term projections.
    • Lead Ad-hoc material requirement committees and peer group studies.
    • Develop, summarize, and communicate key findings to Supply Chain management.
  • Performance & Cost Management:
    • Ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment to Supply Chain management’s performance expectations (Turn Rates – Inventory Balances – Obsolescence).
    • Develop and execute cost-saving initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Relations & Field Support:
    • Maintain professional and effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
    • Provide subject matter expertise, recommendations, and field support for Oncor construction and maintenance activities.
  • Diversity & Safety:
    • Actively support and promote Oncor’s supplier diversity program.
    • Incorporate safety into daily work ethic.

Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Education: High School Diploma required.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of Supply Chain related experience.
  • Skills: General business knowledge, strong written and oral communication, advanced Microsoft Office capabilities, ability to work with and manage confidential information, ability to multi-task and work in a team environment, demonstrates Oncor core values including ethical conduct, intensity, respect, excellence, and innovation.
