The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Allianz, located in Rotterdam. Allianz Hypotheken manages over EUR11 billion in Dutch mortgage investments for European investors and oversees the Allianz Benelux real estate portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain deep insight into the investment market, become an expert in the mortgage sector, and contribute to critical financial operations like risk modeling, valuation, and product development. You will learn from experienced colleagues while also bringing fresh perspectives to the team.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: 6 months, full-time
• Location: In-person, Rotterdam, Rotterdam
• Pay: EUR850 monthly
• Team: You will join a team of four driven colleagues responsible for stakeholder management, risk model development and maintenance, and product management.
• Mission: Gain insight into the investment market and become an expert in the mortgage market by working on mortgage investments and related financial topics.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Thesis: Write a master’s thesis on a topic related to mortgage investments, such as portfolio valuation, risk models, or asset class comparisons.
• Collaborate: Work alongside various departments, including Risk, Sales, and Investment Management, across both Benelux and international operations.
• Participate: Actively engage in pricing and valuation activities for mortgage portfolios and funds.
• Contribute: Support fund management and risk management processes.
• Develop: Assist with report design, data analytics, and product development initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s Degree student in Economics or Econometrics. Entry-Level.
• Experience: No specific prior experience required, as this role is designed for students to gain relevant work experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical and numerical abilities; proactive and positive-critical mindset; proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written).
• Bonus: Customer and investor-centric approach; takes responsibility, proposes improvements, and focuses on collaboration within the team.
