Marketing and Design Intern | Self-employed

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship with flexible scheduling, offering hybrid or remote options. Down for Good is a sustainable bedding brand focused on reimagining the relationship between sleep comfort and planetary well-being. The company’s innovative flagship product is a duvet that revolutionizes the traditional duvet changing process, making it significantly easier, smarter, and more environmentally beneficial. This unique opportunity allows you to work closely with the founder, playing a crucial role in bringing a brand-new sustainable brand to life by creating real-world designs and marketing materials.

• Mission: This person will be responsible for designing and developing a wide range of marketing and visual assets to support the launch and growth of a sustainable bedding brand.
• Tech Stack: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Klaviyo

What You’ll Actually Do
• Retail Design: Design various retail materials, including prominent signage, informative packaging inserts, and engaging point-of-sale visuals, to enhance the in-store customer experience.
• Print Collateral: Create essential print collateral such as detailed sell sheets, visually appealing lookbooks, and other promotional materials for distribution.
• Social Media: Develop compelling social media graphics and campaign assets tailored for various digital platforms to support brand engagement and outreach.
• Email Marketing: Provide support for email marketing initiatives, specifically by designing impactful campaign graphics and creating template structures within Klaviyo.
• Brand Alignment: Work directly and collaboratively with the founder to consistently ensure that all creative output rigorously aligns with the established brand identity and key messaging.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A current student or a recent graduate actively pursuing a degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or another closely related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong proficiency in using Canva for design projects is required. An understanding of effective design principles for both print and digital formats is also necessary, along with either prior experience in or a keen curiosity about retail and consumer product branding.
• Skills: Required skills include strong proficiency in Canva, the ability to apply design principles effectively across both print and digital media, and the capacity to operate as a self-starter who thrives in an early-stage, results-oriented environment. A genuine passion for sustainability and understanding of environmental impact is also essential.
• Bonus: Previous experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Figma is a plus.
