New Mexico Manufacturing Technician Internship | Intel
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Intel, located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Intel Foundry is dedicated to advancing semiconductor manufacturing, delivering cutting-edge silicon process and packaging technology for the AI era, and enabling customers with global manufacturing scale and supply chain solutions. This role is crucial for supporting manufacturing operations and producing technology that will shape the future and improve lives globally.

• Type: Part-time (20-32 hours a week during the school year, up to 40 hours a week on breaks/summers)

• Pay: $48,600–$53,700 hourly

• Mission: Ensure smooth manufacturing operations and efficient wafer movement to meet production goals and create next-generation technologies.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Wafer Movement: Perform functions associated with wafer movement within the New Mexico factories.
• Equipment Setup: Support manufacturing operations by performing equipment setup.
• Process Monitoring: Monitor production processes to ensure operational efficiency.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks to maintain product standards.
• Efficiency Optimization: Assist in troubleshooting machinery and optimizing production efficiency to meet output goals.
• Compliance: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Career Development: Learn and apply knowledge, build skills, and explore future career opportunities through hands-on experience and projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student actively enrolled and progressing towards an Associate’s Degree or certification in Automotive Technology, Aviation Technology, Electrical Trades, Heating/Ventilation/AC/Refrigeration, Industrial Automation Technology (Mechatronics), Machine Tool Technology, or a related field of study.
• Experience: 1+ month of experience using basic Microsoft applications, including Excel and Outlook.
• Skills: Proficiency in basic Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook).
• Bonus: Basic knowledge of electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operations. Experience performing hands-on auto repair, welding, soldering, robotics, or crafting. Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment. Work experience in a team environment. Familiarity with schematics, drawings/diagrams, and integrated circuit fabrication.
