Managing Director Investment Banking | Tech Focus | Delmar Nord

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Delmar Nord, located in New York City, NY. Delmar Nord is a leading Investment Bank looking to grow its Technology coverage team. This senior leadership position is critical for driving the origination, structuring, and execution of complex M&A and capital markets transactions for technology clients, while also fostering client relationships and developing junior banking talent.

• Mission: To originate, structure, and execute complex M&A and capital markets transactions for clients across the technology sector, while leading client relationships and mentoring junior bankers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Development: Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, and Boards of leading technology companies and financial sponsors, proactively originating M&A, equity, and debt advisory opportunities.
• Deal Leadership: Lead the end-to-end execution of transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, follow-ons, and private placements, overseeing valuation analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, and transaction structuring.
• Revenue Generation: Consistently meet or exceed annual revenue targets by building and managing a robust pipeline of live deals and prospective opportunities, identifying cross-selling opportunities across product areas.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop junior bankers (VPs, Associates, Analysts), fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment and providing strategic guidance on pitch materials and deal strategy.
• Industry Expertise: Maintain deep expertise in technology sector trends, competitive dynamics, and valuation frameworks, representing the firm at industry conferences and contributing to thought leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive. Investment banking, with deep expertise in one or more technology subsectors such as software, fintech, semiconductors, IT services, or internet.
• Experience: 12-15+ years of investment banking experience, with significant time at the Director/MD level, and an established track record of originating and executing M&A and capital markets transactions.
• Skills: Strong existing relationships with corporate clients and financial sponsors, demonstrated ability to generate substantial revenue, strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Bonus: MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; proven leadership and team-building capabilities; ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure environment.
