What You’ll Actually Do
• Cultivate relationships with drivers and external carriers to optimize productivity and minimize turnover.
• Maximize fleet operational efficiency and profitability, providing customer-specific reports and financial analysis.
• Oversee yard operations, including equipment inspections, minor repairs, and coordination with maintenance for preventative services.
• Ensure compliance with company safety culture, DOT regulations, and internal policies through driver training and reviews.
• Assign loads, plan routes, and monitor freight movement to guarantee safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, or account management (if without a Bachelor’s degree), or equivalent military experience.
• Skills: Regulatory compliance (DOT), logistics planning (load assignment, routing), financial analysis (P&L, budgeting), conflict resolution, data interpretation.
• Bonus: Experience managing a team; ability to anticipate and resolve conflicts; strong analytical and decision-making skills; adaptability to changing environments; capacity to build and maintain healthy professional relationships.
