The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), located in the USA. This position is vital for supporting the daily back office operations of the Standby Letter of Credit Section, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with established procedures.

• Mission: Ensure the efficient and compliant daily back office operations for Standby Letters of Credit and other Trade Finance Products.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Workflow Management: Manage the daily workflow to ensure timely issuance and amendment processing of Standby L/Cs, reconciling all incoming items and processed output according to procedures and controls.
• Transaction Verification: Verify and release L/Cs, amendments, drawings, and payments, ensuring accurate booking of liabilities and commissions in the Trade 360 System, and compliance with LC terms and internal procedures.
• Technical Support: Provide essential operational and technical support, including draft reviews and comments, to staff, front/middle offices, all U.S. branches, and customers regarding Standby L/Cs.
• Staff Oversight & Compliance: Supervise team workflow assignments, assess performance, deliver necessary system training, and enforce bank compliance policies and procedures, including OFAC/BSA/AML regulations.
• System Liaison & Reporting: Serve as the primary system liaison for Trade 360 and related systems (OVS, Hotscan), responsible for UAT, customized reports, GL break investigations, and supporting SOX certifications and audits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field. This is an Assistant Vice President (AVP) role requiring a foundational understanding of banking operations.
• Experience: 5-10 years of banking experience, including 2-3 years specifically in Standby Letter of Credit operations, with knowledge of SBLC processing and billing/fee invoices.
• Skills: Sound knowledge of UCP, ISP, URDG, and ISBP; Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Ability to operate effectively in automated system environments.
• Bonus: Specialized training or exposure in International Trade, Trade and Commodity, and Supply Chain Financing; Experience with SBLC draft reviews and technical support; Familiarity with Trade 360, GPP, BESS, and Hotscan systems; Background in Commodity Financing and Project Finance.
