The Tone:
This is a 24-week Management Trainee Program at Dayton Freight Lines, Inc., structured as a temporary, hands-on experience designed to lead directly into a management position upon successful completion. This role requires participants to be willing to relocate to any of the company’s Service Centers. Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. is recognized as a stable and growing organization within the Transportation Industry, specializing in Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight. This program is instrumental in preparing recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating seniors by immersing them in the company’s culture and operations, providing them with essential future-based leadership skills. What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Actively engage in a comprehensive 24-week hands-on job experience, designed to provide in-depth exposure across all functional areas of Dayton Freight’s operations.
• Industry and Company Knowledge: Systematically learn the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) Industry from the ground up, simultaneously gaining a deep understanding of Dayton Freight’s specific company culture, values, and operational methodologies.
• Operational Skill Development: Acquire practical, real-world experience by participating directly in various operational functions, thereby building a foundational understanding of how the company effectively moves freight.
• Leadership Skill Enhancement: Participate in structured educational components focused on developing future-based leadership skills, preparing for the challenges and responsibilities of a management role.
• Management Readiness: Successfully complete the rigorous program curriculum, ensuring full confidence and competence to seamlessly transition into and excel within a management position at Dayton Freight Lines.

• Background: This program is specifically designed for recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating seniors, requiring candidates to possess a valid Bachelor’s degree obtained from an accredited college, marking this as an entry-level opportunity for career development.
• Experience: The program itself serves as the primary experience, focusing on developing skills over 24 intensive weeks; therefore, no prior years of specific professional experience are mandated.
• Skills: Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to geographical flexibility, including a willingness to relocate to any of Dayton Freight’s Service Centers, and possess the adaptability to work a rotating schedule across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts to support continuous operations.
