2026 Management & Sales Training Program (Montana) | Sherwin-Williams
The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level role with Sherwin-Williams, located in Montana. Sherwin-Williams is an organization dedicated to inspiring and improving the world by coloring and protecting what matters, through high-quality paints, coatings, and innovative solutions. This position is an accelerated management and sales training program designed to prepare individuals for a Store Management role in 18-24 months, contributing to the growth of a million-dollar business and the company’s market share. The role is critical for developing future leaders who will drive sales to commercial users and ensure customer satisfaction within the organization’s promote-from-within philosophy.

• Mission: To prepare for a Store Management role by overseeing a million-dollar business, providing leadership, and growing market share by selling to commercial users.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Completion: Successfully complete the structured 8-week training program and subsequent development consistent with established objectives, preparing for an Assistant Store Manager role.
• Business Growth: Strategically support store management in increasing sales, optimizing profitability, and growing the company’s market share by selling to large commercial users such as painting contractors and manufacturers.
• Customer Service: Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service, building positive relationships with both wholesale and retail clients, and effectively responding to and resolving complaints.
• Outside Sales: Partner directly with the Store Manager to conduct outside sales calls, actively establishing relationships in the community essential to expanding the business’s client base.
• Store Operations: Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards, complete essential administrative tasks, and ensure compliance with policies including safety and loss prevention.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must have at least a bachelor’s degree by the start of this development program, qualifying for an accelerated, entry-level position designed for future store management.
• Experience: Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License. Preferred to have at least one (1) year experience in a retail, sales, or customer service position, and at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s) supervising others or leading teams.
• Skills: Ability to develop expertise in customer service, sales, marketing, finance, and operations. Strong capability in building positive relationships with diverse customers and engaging in professional networking. Proficient in learning and applying product knowledge to make effective customer recommendations.
• Bonus: Previous experience selling paint and paint related products. Experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (“CRM”) systems. Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities and the ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language, especially Spanish.
