About the Role: Management Intern for Access ASU Outreach Experiences

Access ASU is dedicated to increasing access to higher education and preparing Arizona students for success through family engagement, strategic K-12 education, and community partnerships. Its programs and initiatives are designed to ensure all Arizona students graduate high school ready to thrive in college and the 21st-century workforce.

Access ASU is seeking a Management Intern with experience and interest in outreach. This position will play a crucial role in promoting higher education for Arizona communities, students, and parents. The intern will assist with Campus Experience programming and the creation, implementation, and presentation of workshops designed to encourage post-secondary education for students and families.

Under general supervision, the Management Intern will plan, organize, and coordinate activities, functions, and programs, adhering to priorities, time limitations, funding limitations, and other specifications. This is an in-person, front-facing position that involves working closely with K-12 students to foster a college-going culture. The Management Intern will actively contribute to Access ASU initiatives, including increasing access to higher education for K-12 students and their families.

Required: Candidate must be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment. Continuation of employment will be based on continuous enrollment in a Graduate Program.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and deliver presentations to diverse groups, including students, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with community partners to develop and foster relationships.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and data analysis to drive solutions forward.
  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University and with diverse populations and groups.
  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and program participant communication.
  • Schedule facilities and services for use by campus and outside organizations.
  • Provide leadership training and organization management through workshops and seminars to targeted groups.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings, or conferences with a high impact on the program and/or participants.
  • Represent the college/department within internal and external ASU communities.
  • Assist with year-long programming and summer camps.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating outreach strategies to meet the goals of enrolling the full demographic of Arizona students, focusing on application, admission, and enrollment to ASU.
  • Other duties may be assigned to support department goals and initiatives.

Days and Schedule

This is an in-person position, primarily Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. It is a 20-hour per week position and will include some nights and weekends, with flexible days and hours based on programming needs. The primary work location is the Tempe campus; however, the incumbent may be required to travel to off-campus events and other ASU campuses to perform work duties.

Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students, ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshmen, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs, and activities for enrolled students. EOSS has direct responsibility for multiple departments across four campuses, including the Dean of Students, University Housing, Health Services, Counseling Services, Disability Resources, the Memorial Union, TRIO programs, Sun Devil Fitness, Student Government, Student Media, Career Services, Access ASU, and others.
