The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Highland Health Care Center, located in Highland, IL. Highland Health Care Center is a dedicated skilled nursing facility that proudly serves the local community by providing a wide range of compassionate nursing and rehabilitation services. These include long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, memory care, peritoneal dialysis, rehabilitation services, respite care, VA patient services, and wound care, all focused on personalized attention and strong communication. As Maintenance Director, you will play an essential part in upholding the facility’s commitment to creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, their families, staff, and visitors, while ensuring the smooth daily operations of the center.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facility Oversight: Oversee and strategically manage the comprehensive general maintenance of the entire facility, meticulously caring for resident rooms, all common areas, the exterior grounds, and critical operational equipment.
• Routine Repairs & Upkeep: Perform a broad spectrum of routine maintenance duties, which include detailed painting, essential plumbing fixes, carpentry work, electrical system repairs, and thorough HVAC system maintenance.
• Emergency Response & Resolution: Promptly respond to and efficiently resolve all emergency maintenance calls and urgent repair requests, minimizing disruptions and ensuring the continuous safety and functionality of the environment.
• Documentation & Regulatory Compliance: Accurately complete all necessary maintenance documentation and detailed reports as required, thereby maintaining comprehensive records and supporting regulatory compliance efforts.
• Safety, Health & Environment: Ensure strict adherence to all prevailing safety and health regulations, actively working to support and maintain a clean, secure, and comfortable living and working environment for all residents and staff.
• Quality of Life Contribution: Lead by example within the team and directly contribute to enhancing the overall quality of life and positive experience for all residents in our care.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This Director-level position requires a foundational understanding of facility maintenance operations, supported by a high school diploma or GED as a minimum educational requirement.
• Experience: Candidates with two or more years of related maintenance experience are strongly preferred, demonstrating a practical history in managing and executing maintenance tasks.
• Skills: Essential skills include strong organizational capabilities, effective problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to efficiently manage multiple priorities without compromising quality.
