M&A Associate | Cobalt Service Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Cobalt Service Partners, located in New York City. Cobalt is building a leading platform in the commercial access solutions industry, encompassing overhead doors, commercial doors, security gates, access control systems, and video surveillance systems. Backed by Alpine Investors, Cobalt has successfully acquired 21 partner companies in just over two years. This role is integral to Cobalt’s M&A efforts, offering rapid professional development and significant upward mobility within the company.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, New York, NY
• Pay: $150000–$200000 yearly
• Team: Reports to Cobalt Director of M&A, Tyler Smith, with daily mentorship from Co-CEO Tyler Hoffman and EVP Jose Emanuelli.
• Mission: Manage and execute the full M&A transaction process for a growing platform.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Conduct financial statement analysis and perform financial modeling for valuation.
• Negotiate: Structure transactions and negotiate Letters of Intent and legal documentation.
• Oversee: Manage operational and legal due diligence processes, coordinating with third-party advisors.
• Present: Prepare presentations for the Board of Directors and manage debt financing efforts.
• Collaborate: Work directly with C-level executives across Finance and Operations for broad business exposure.

The Must-Haves
• Background: M&A experience in an analytical and externally facing role, preferably with Corporate Development and prior Investment Banking or Private Equity experience.
• Experience: 3–5+ years of relevant M&A experience. Buy-side M&A experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong oral and written communication, robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, sound strategic and critical thinking.
