M&A Advisor | Vista Equity Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Vista Equity Partners, preferably located in Austin, TX, for an immediate start. Vista is a global technology investor specializing in enterprise software, managing over $100 billion in assets through a proprietary and systematic approach developed over 25 years and 650+ transactions. This position is crucial for the Foundation Fund’s deal team, supporting the sourcing of M&A opportunities for growing enterprise software businesses with initial revenues between $30 million and $100 million+.

• Team: Supports the Foundation Fund’s deal team.
• Mission: Identify and source new M&A investment opportunities for the Foundation Fund, focusing on B2B software, and manage strategic M&A opportunities for existing portfolio companies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Identify: Identify new M&A investment opportunities specifically within the B2B software sector.
• Source: Proactively source and build M&A pipelines through direct outreach to executives and sponsors, attending industry events and conferences, and tracking market trends.
• Research: Support the deal team by conducting M&A research focused on new investment opportunities.
• Manage: Manage and provide support for strategic M&A opportunities concerning existing portfolio companies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BS/BA required. Strong understanding of M&A processes, including sourcing and deal structuring, within the context of B2B software or technology-related sectors.
• Experience: 2–6 years of relevant professional experience in fields such as private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or consulting. Software investing experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proven ability to evaluate markets and companies using financial analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and industry research; excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for engaging with senior executives; demonstrated success in managing multiple workstreams with high attention to detail in a deal environment; high analytical horsepower.
