Long-term Intern – Occupational Health & Safety | Airbus Helicopters, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a long-term internship at Airbus Helicopters, Inc., located in Grand Prairie, TX. Airbus Helicopters designs and manufactures rotorcraft for a global market, with its U.S. regional headquarters based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This role is essential for supporting the Occupational Health & Safety team, contributing to a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with critical federal and state regulations.

The TL;DR

• Team: Occupational Health & Safety team
• Mission: This role supports the Safety Department by assisting with various safety activities, programs, and compliance efforts to ensure a safe and regulated workplace.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative assistance for the Safety Department’s day-to-day operations and tasks.
• Program Coordination: Assist with the coordination and execution of diverse Safety programs, activities, events, and initiatives.
• Data Management: Conduct thorough research, prepare detailed spreadsheets, draft impactful presentations, and compile essential materials for the Safety team.
• Compliance & Auditing: Contribute to maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, primarily OSHA and EPA standards, and assist in tracking, auditing, and updating safety initiatives.
• Program Development: Support the revision of existing written safety programs, assist in the development of new programs, and meticulously maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or GED required, along with current enrollment in a college/university program focused on safety, industrial operations, or business.
• Experience: Must be currently local to the DFW metro area for this long-term, onsite opportunity, and authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Skills: High degree of accuracy in record keeping and data entry, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Google Workspace (G-Suite) applications.
